Members of the South Carolina Sports Turf Managers Association (SCSTMA) manage the sports fields of schools, universities, and parks and recreation departments, as well as those used by professional teams throughout South Carolina.

This organization of professionals combine scientific agronomic principles with technical expertise to develop and maintain safe and aesthetically pleasing playing surfaces for ALL levels of play. Our Chapter offers its members the opportunity to meet regularly to discuss and develop athletic field programs and share their expertise to best serve athletes at all levels. We are one of 34 recognized chapter affiliates of the National STMA.​

Clemson University Turfgrass Field Day 

A turfgrass field day will be held August 16, 2022 starting at 9am. Turfgrass professors will review and discuss a variety of research and demonstration test trials for commercial sod producers, golf course personnel, sports field managers, homeowners, LCOs, commercial sales and R&D reps, and others interested in viewing the latest cultivars and other tests conducted on campus.

Pesticide credits will be offered. The event is free and open to the general public. Meet at 9am at the Walker Golf Course maintenance facility, 412 Cherry Road, Clemson, SC 29634 (see map here). Park at the Walker Golf Course maintenance facility parking lot. Note: drive cautiously on campus as extensive road construction/widening is occurring at the intersection of Perimeter and Cherry Roads. Also, it will be hot, dress accordingly.
